About Us

Helping you take control of your health after age 50 with simple, practical, and evidence-based strategies.

I created this site because I know firsthand how difficult it can be to make sense of health information as we get older. Online and on social media, we are constantly exposed to health advice — and much of it can be conflicting, oversimplified, or difficult to distinguish from claims that have little evidence behind them.

Like many people over 50, I wanted clearer explanations of what happens to our bodies as we age — but I also wanted those explanations to be grounded in credible scientific research and evidence. I wanted to understand not only what we are told to do for our health, but why the evidence suggests it may help.

Unlock Health Secrets was created to bridge that gap.

The aim is to take reliable scientific and academic research and explain it in clear, everyday language — without unnecessary complexity or the overwhelm that can come with trying to make sense of the science yourself.

But understanding the evidence is only part of the picture. Health advice also needs to work in real life. That means focusing on practical, realistic strategies rather than expecting perfection, and recognizing that small, sustainable changes can often be more useful than complicated routines that are difficult to maintain.

Most importantly, the information here is created with life after 50 in mind, with a particular focus on healthy aging, metabolism, insulin resistance, maintaining strength, and the changes that become increasingly important as we get older.

My aim is to help you better understand your health, ask informed questions, and make decisions that are right for you — including, where appropriate, together with your healthcare professionals.
